Stine was okay and some reasons why I think it was okay was that I think the part where the judges say they can go to PPP, that could have been a little more realistic because the reason was that they just wanted to get rid of Bernie. One thing I was confused about if Corky had the ball blow up or had the mallet blew up. Some things I liked about it was that it at least showed some new characters and showed a whole new environment that the rotten school house went to.
Rotten School #11
I recommend this book to 4th graders and people who love stuff that is silly. Feb 27, Zhelana rated it liked it Shelves: everybody-wins , fiction , read-in This was a perfectly average children's book. Jun 02, Michelle Bridges rated it really liked it. Overall a cute book for upper elementary. There are lots of great play on words that kids can appreciate.
The plot is simple, that Bernie wants to win the great invention contest so he can have a week at the rich kids prep school, and the grand prize of cash. He and his dorm mates at the rotten school are funny characters. This is a fun book, but there is little character development and a simple plot so this would be a good read to help develop fluency and speed. Feb 13, Billy rated it really liked it. The 11th entry in the series changes the format slightly.
Rotten School # Punk'd and Skunked by R.L. Stine (ebook)
Here there are almost two different stories in one book. The first half involves Bernie trying to come up with the perfect invention to win the invention contest. The second half has Bernie and his pals visiting the prep school for a week, where they have to come up with a new invention. Overall, Rotten School: Punk'd and Skunked is an entertaining read with several laugh out loud moments.
Jun 01, Madeline Henricksen rated it really liked it. I liked this book because the book was very funny. I would reccomend this book to anyone who likes funny rotten school books. I like the part when Corky Pigge puts an explosive blue croquet ball in front of Bernie and he hits it and it blows up his clothes, except for his underwear.
